Canada 2020, Canada’s leading independent progressive think-tank, has launched a new policy paper series about the federal government choices that must be made in the coming years to ensure Canada’s economic prosperity and social well-being.
Published spring and fall 2014 on canada2020backup.see-design.com/publications, this suite of papers cover topics ranging from large global themes (energy politics, Canada’s foreign policy future, economic inequality) to more granular process issues (democratic reform, renewal of the public service, intergovernmental relations).

Heyman, will deliver his first official speech to Canadians at a dinner event on June 2nd at the National Gallery of Canada. On Monday, April 28th, Canada 2020 hosted award-winning economist, Dr. Daron Acemoglu, in front of a packed house at the Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa.
Dr. Acemoglu is the Killian Professor of Economics at MIT in Boston, and his latest book, Why Nations Fail: the origins of power, prosperity and poverty is a New York Times Best-Seller and contributed to Dr. Acemoglu’s winning of the John Bates Clark medal, given to outstanding economists under 40.
His talk focused on the importance of building inclusive institutions – both economic and political – to ensure economic growth is secured in the long-run.
