What kind of Canada do you want in 2020?
That is the guiding question behind our major policy conference happening on October 2nd and 3rd of this year.
Join us in Ottawa as we will tackle the big, forward-looking questions of our time. By 2020, what do we want to accomplish as a nation? What areas of progress are important to us? And where do we want to be on the world stage?

Right now, Canada is at an inflection point: the marketplace for ideas is open, and our policy community needs new ways to grow our economy, strike a balance between energy and the environment, rebuild healthy, sustainable communities and navigate complex, 21st century challenges like privacy and international security.
The #Can2020 Conference is our opportunity to set in motion the idea-generation process that will carry Canada into a new decade. Together with the Center for American Progress’ Global Progress Initiative, we invite you to hear some of the world’s most influential thinkers, organizers, policy developers and business leaders.
Your conference pass includes access to all of the sessions during the two-day event (panels, breakouts, keynote speeches), a delegate kit, two lunches, and exclusive access to multiple networking receptions and socials throughout the conference.

We should never forget that we are a northern country of immigrants from every nation tempered by geography and climate, surrounded by seas thriving in the shadow of the USA, still the default nation in terms of trade, military power, intellect and innovation.
Well done! It’s time for another Canada 2020 Conference. Remember when 2020 seemed far away?
Let me know how I can help.

Could you add relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians to the line-up. A crucial issue going forward.
Do you need volunteers to assist at the conference?
Great suggestions Brian. We’ve got something in the works and will keep you posted. As for volunteers – absolutely. Email me at alex[at]canada2020backup.see-design.com.
Great to have this forum, anyone notice the shifting demographics in Canada — what are the implications for Canada and what does it mean to be Canadian in these times? Other voices? Other narratives? Would be useful……..
I second Brian’s suggestion. Canada ‘s future is not assured unless we repair our past, specifically create an honest and respectful relationship between Indigenous people and other Canadians, an urgent task that cannot be postponed.

Great line-up.
How about inviting Celine Bak of “Canadian Clean Technology Industry Report” to the energy panel. She could give a great overview of the sector.

I’m looking forward to attending the Can2020 conference as a member of FSNA.
The lineup of speakers looks awesome, and I’d be interested in hearing the input from these speakers as to what their vision of the future of Canada is.
As well, if there is need for volunteers, I am willing to help in some
small way.
The Canada 2020 Conference will be again a forum of ideas, inspiration, social, economic and philosophical perspectives that should help to give the needed directions to several areas of the Canadian Society…. Canada is a great country to live but the growing complexities of globalization call for a better vision of how Canada has to focus on to remain and continue to be the best country overall.
